Real Projects. Real Experience. Verified Beginnings.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how projects, payment, verification and roles actually work here.
What is an Experience Project?

Real, scoped work that a person completes without a professional fee, under a written agreement covering scope, deliverables, timeline and confidentiality. The Organization gets a defined contribution; the participant builds experience that can be verified afterwards.

So it is unpaid?

An Experience Project carries no professional fee, and every project says so plainly before you apply. That is deliberate — the alternative is people discovering it after investing effort. Paid Projects exist separately and are labelled as such.

Can expenses be covered?

Yes, and separately from compensation. An Organization can mark a project as supporting expenses, and a participant can request reimbursement for legitimate project costs with evidence attached. Reimbursing a cost is not a fee, and the platform never presents them as the same thing.

Are there Paid Projects?

Yes. Paid Projects carry a stated budget range. Anyone can read the full brief; applying requires Gold membership.

Why is Gold required to apply to Paid Projects?

Paid Projects attract far more applications than Experience Projects, and the limit keeps that volume manageable for Organizations while funding the platform. The complete core experience — including Experience Projects, collaboration and certificates — stays free.

Does Gold guarantee I will be selected?

No. Gold controls access to apply and how visible your profile is. Organizations choose whom to work with on merit, and no plan changes that.

Does Gold make me verified?

No, and this is the distinction we are strictest about. Verification comes from credentials reviewed by a person and from completed work. Gold is a paid membership. They use different colours and different marks throughout the platform for exactly this reason.

What does the certificate actually verify?

That a named person completed a specific project for a specific Organization, that both sides confirmed completion, and which skills the project involved. It records the names as they stood when it was issued, so it does not change later.

Is the certificate an employment certificate?

No. It is not employment, not a degree, and not a professional licence, and it says so on its face. It is a verifiable record of project work.

Can an Organization without commercial registration join?

Yes. A registration number is optional. Every Organization is still reviewed by our team before its first public project can be published.

Can universities and student groups participate?

Yes. Departments, labs and university-affiliated groups take part as Organization Accounts on the same terms as any other Organization.

What is a Supervisor?

A Supervisor is someone either party invites to observe a single project — a mentor, a lecturer, a manager. The role is strictly read-only: a Supervisor can follow progress and decisions but cannot send messages, submit work, approve expenses or agree scope changes, and cannot open attached files.

Who owns the work produced?

Ownership and portfolio rights follow the agreement both parties accept before work starts, including how much the participant may show publicly. A project marked confidential never produces a publicly visible portfolio entry.

How are disputes handled?

Either party can raise a dispute from the project workspace. The project moves to a disputed state, all history stays visible, and our team reviews it and resolves it with a written note to both sides.

Does the platform hold project payments?

No. There is no escrow, wallet or payout. For Paid Projects the two parties arrange payment directly; the platform records what was agreed, when the Organization reported sending it, and when the participant confirmed receiving it. Only the participant can confirm receipt.
